I've been making handmade soap since 1999. Many people ask me why I started and it's quite simple...I come from a long line of crafty women and needed to satisfy my urge to create something different for holidays gifts one year. So I ventured to a natural grocery store, loaded up on coconut oil and whatever else I needed, and proceeded to start on my soaping escapades!

The name "Hemlock Springs Cottage" comes from our first house...we lived on "Hemlock Springs Road." And while I am often asked "do you really use HEMLOCK in these products???" I can unequivocally say "NO!"

I really believe in pampering myself in the bath...there's nothing like spoiling your skin and senses. After all, it's all about taking good care of ourselves, isn't it?
